She was predeceased by: her parents, James Beatty and Violet Beatty; and her sister Sandra Palmer. She is survived by: her husband Kenneth Barnes; her daughter Ashley Hayes (Christopher); her grandchildren, Emily Wells and Garrett Bond; and her niece Renee Palmer.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Grace Life Senior Adult Ministries, Grace Life Baptist Church, 6200 Lou George Loop, Bessemer, AL 35020.
