He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Moore Pate and Emma Mack Pate; his grandson Justin Shawn Pate; and his siblings, Benny Mack Pate, Carrie Sue Hand, James Edward Johnson and Odessa Froman.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Kay Pate (Barnett); his children, Kenneth Shane Pate (Tamera), Kathy Rena McKay (Greg), Calvin Neal Pate (Priscilla) and Brenda Victoria Johns (Phillip); and his great grandchildren, Kiowa Diane Pate, Weston Alexander Vaughn, Emma Rae Pate, Charlotte Rose Wheat and Everett James Posten.
