He was predeceased by: his wife Myralyn Hamilton Smith; and his parents, William Forrest Smith and Alice Kropp Smith. He is survived by: his children, Karla Whitcomb (Paul), Thea Smith, Eric Smith (Melissa) and Lisa Hammett (Tom); his grandchildren, Nathan Whitcomb (Audra), David Whitcomb (Abbi), Jason Whitcomb (Katie), Azalea Hulbert (Ryan), Laura Smith, Megan Smith, Olivia Smith, Rebekah Smith, Matthew Smith, Trey Hammett and Lauren Hammett; and his niece Harriette McLain (Mike). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
