He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Newbern and Roselle Cooley; his grandparents, Francis Chappel and Rosa Cooley of Lacey's Chapel; and his brother Larry Wayne Cooley.
He is survived by: his wife Frances; his children, Susan Frances Cooley, Jesslyn Lantrip (Will), Shane Cooley (Sharon) and Angela Jill Cooley; his grandchildren, Chazz Lantrip, Jessi Raye Johnson (Bailey), Kendra Shaw (Tim) and Kayla Rooks (Patrick); and his great grandchildren, Luke and Gavin Shaw. He is also survived by cousins, siblings-in-law, nieces, and nephews; and a large group of friends.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Valhalla Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church in McCalla.
