With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gena Cain Shaul (McCalla, Alabama), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 29, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Gena Cain may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gena Cain touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Alton Cain and Martha Vincent Cain; and her brothers, William and Lamar Cain. She is survived by: her husband Lawrence Shaul; her daughter Tena Shaul; her sister Donna Freeman (Bill); and her grandchildren, Sydney, Tyler and Austin.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Freedom Ministries Church (6425 Eastern Valley Rd, McCalla, AL 35111).
