It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alex Cheeks in McCalla, Alabama, born in Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gurlyn Cheeks and Virginia Turner Cheeks Horsley; his stepfather Claude Horsley; his siblings, Clarence Cheek and Venira Payton; and his stepdaughter Autumn McRee.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Crowley Cheeks; his daughters, Amanda Collier (Craig) and Karen Cheeks Boolos; his stepdaughter April Mitchell (Adam); his grandchildren, Andrew Salze, Layla Boolos, Emma, Corinne, Lydia and Julia Mitchell; his niece Suzie Crumpton; his grandchildren, Josie, Judson, Joshua Hogeland, Jonah Champion (Emily), Jesse Gilliland, Carleigh, Abbigail, Rikki, Dezzi Bearden, Michael and Elijah Reid; and his great grandchild Harper Kai Salze.
