He is survived by: his wife Jean Johnson Nichols; his son Steven Gene Nichols; his sister Glenda Lavender (Jimmy); his nephew Todd Lavender (August); his niece Andria Robinson (Lance); his grandchildren, Bethanie Parker (Devan), Kolton Nichols, Brooke Nichols and Victoria Nichols; and his great grandchildren, Lillian Dickerson, Emersyn Powell and Aycen Powell.
