He was predeceased by: his fathers, David Green and Ernest Lee Green; his brothers, Robert Whitehead and David Douglas Jr.; his son Johnny Kirby; and his sister-in-law Rosalind Voncille Shepherd-Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Queen Esther Shepherd-Green; his children, Patricia Green-Simpson (Michael), Katrina Green-McGee, Kimberly Green, Kamille Green-Henderson (Jonnie) and James McAfee; his grandchildren, Michael Green Sr., TraShawn Green, John McGee II, Jaleesa McGee, Jasmine McGee, Oeyocha Green, Kierra Green, Kenyatta Simpson Jr., Oneisha Hampton, Kennedi Green and Morgan Henderson; his siblings, Mary Bright, Clarence Green (Rissie), Dorothy Brownlee, Betty Gilbert (Willie), Ida Gibson (Harvey), Sandy Green, Donald Green (Linda), Chandra Boone and Ernest Green; his parents-in-law, Wanda Whitehead, Ruth Ann King-Green, Lee Shepherd Jr., Charlie Shepherd (Maebell), Gregory Marshall (Carol), Henderson Marshall (Marie), Josephine and Helen Teague; his aunt Queen Esther Tinker-Green; and his nephew Robert Abercrombie. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
