With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald Brett Hughey of Marion, Alabama, born in Selma, Alabama, who passed away on December 25, 2023 at the age of 60. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Hughey and Levina Ann Hughey; and his sister Christie Hughey. He is survived by: his siblings, Bryan Hughey (Jenny) and Angie Hughey Duncan (Mike); his nephews, Lowell Bryan Hughey, Jr., Troy Hughey and Preston Duncan; his niece Holly Hughey; and his great-nieces, Abigail Hughey, Anabel Hughey and Alyson Hughey. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Brett insisted on being the sole caretaker of his mother Ann until her very last days with Alzheimer's.
