He was predeceased by: his parents, Otha James Barton and Helen Morris Barton; and his former wife Betty Jean Donavan Barton. He is survived by: his wife Sherry L. Barton; and his sons, James Donavan Barton (Amelia), Burnis Dudley Barton (Karen), Wallace Carleton Barton (Heather), Franklin Eugene Barton (Alice), Kenneth Leverett Barton (Allison) and Thomas Alexander Barton (Laci). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Marion United Methodist Church.
