He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Spurlock and Ora Elvina Heath Spurlock; his wife Margaret Barfield Spurlock; and his siblings, Eva Mae Monk, Estelle Tharpe, Anna Willis, Betty Jo Etheredge, John Morgan Spurlock, Malcolm Spurlock, William Spurlock, Lunie Spurlock, Robert Spurlock and Paul Spurlock.
He is survived by: his children, Dilly Ward of Tuscaloosa and Scott; his daughter-in-law Tonya Spurlock of Mabson; his grandchildren, Ben Ward (Olivia) of Mobile, Jessica Pritchett of Dothan, Mason Spurlock (Haley) of Mobile and Maddie Spurlock Faircloth (Evan) of Ozark; his great grandchildren, Lilah Grace Pritchett, Lainey Brooke Pritchett, Pate Pritchett, Harper Ellis Ward, Felix McKay Ward and Wyatt Faircloth; his son Stanley Smith; and his nephew Harvey Monk.
