He was predeceased by: his parents, Ninevah Barber and Thereas Wilkerson; his brothers, Roy Eugene Barber (Gene) and Harold Lee Barber (Tag); and his nephew Virgil Lamar "Pete" Barber.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Barber; his daughters, Lesia Howell (Phillip) and Sabrina Cooper (Leroy); his grandchildren, Jason Phillip Howell, Patrick Alexander Cooper and Katy Elizabeth Cooper; his niece Kathy Barber Roberts; and also Scooter.
