He was predeceased by: his daughter Nikki Abbott McKenzie; his parents, Felton Abbott and Rosa Mae Abbott; and his siblings, Willie Dale Cahlane, Dorothy Stough, Buddy Abbott, Will Abbott and Doug Abbott.
He is survived by: his brothers, Raymond Abbott (Mattie) of Maplesville, Cecil Abbott (Lynn) of Maplesville and Earl Abbott of Maplesville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
