He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean (Dodson); his children, Brad (Kristi) and Mandy; his stepchildren, Stacie Tovar (Jamie) and Jason Miller; his grandchildren, Philip Newby (BJ), Ryen Newby, Cameron Tovar (Kaitlyn), Josh Tovar, Jordan Miller, John Newby, William Newby and Addison Newby; his great grandchildren, Willow Faye Newby and Rowen Newby; and his siblings, Marta "Sissy" Owenby (Doug), Lisa Morris (Ottie), Tracy Lang (Wayne), Sherri Newby (Vivian), Frankie (Nancy) and Robin (Tammy).

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the American Heart Association.
