She was predeceased by: her parents, James Frank Mase, Sr. and Macie Carter Mase; her husband Joseph James Vargo; her sister Shirley Fay Towe; and her siblings-in-law, Donald Wayne Towe, Sr. and Phyllis Mase.

She is survived by: her daughter Carmen Lita Vargo-Moncier (James C. Moncier, III) of Madison, Alabama; and her brothers, John William Mase and James Frank Mase, Jr. (Lenora Mase). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
