He was predeceased by: his parents, George Leverett and Alma Leverett; his wife Betty Jean; his daughter Joyce Denice Leverett; and his siblings, Winnie Mae Reeves, Robert Leverett, Edward Leverett and L. C. Leverett.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Lewis Leverett (Martha) and Lola Leverett Windsor (Mike); his siblings, Mary Lockard, Calmer Callaway and Ray Leverett; his granddaughters, Kellie Leverett Glasgow and Michelle Leverett; and his great grandchildren, Zachary Cashman, Billy Glasgow and Mae Mae Glasgow.
