He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Scott and Estelle Becton; his wife Rebecca Kilpatrick Becton; his daughter Juanita Lamb; and his brother Richard Becton.

He is survived by: his daughters, Mildred Roberts (William) of North Carolina and Susie Jordan (Michael) of Madison; his son-in-law Johnny Lamb; his grandchildren, Will Roberts (Erin) of North Carolina, Sarah Martin (Greg) of North Carolina, Annie Jordan of Madison and Ashley Jordan of Madison; and his great grandchildren, William Roberts of North Carolina, Lillian Martin of North Carolina and Ben Martin of North Carolina.
