It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Richard Pettis of Madison, Alabama, born in Marianna, Florida, who passed away on April 2, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Pettis and Bernice R. Pettis; and his sister Barbara J. Pettis. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Parsons Pettis; his daughters, Jennifer Pettis Cobb (Donny) and Rachel Pettis Hendrix (Brad); his siblings, Jane Manning (Ken), David Pettis (Kandy), Roy Pettis (Alicia) and Molly Pettis Reid (Robert); and his grandchildren, Emma, Ryland, Noah and Addie Rose.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Madison Baptist Church (840 Balch Rd, Madison, AL 35758). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, a memorial gift can be sent to Madison Baptist Church and designated to the Lighthouse Ministry.
