He is survived by: his wife Saundra Lee Wagner Thompson; his children, Pamela Upper of Madison, Alabama and John Thompson of Daphne, Alabama; his stepchildren, James McGowen (Amanada), Dale McGowen (Tammy) and Cheryl McGowen; and his sister Sally Sullivan of Florida.
