Elizabeth Ragano Obituary
Elizabeth "Betty" Ragano, of Madison, Alabama passed away on May 14, 2023. Betty was born on July 19, 1932, to the late Wilson and Hattie Armstrong in Aberdeen, Maryland. She grew up in Aberdeen, graduating from Aberdeen High School - Class of 1949;. She then completed her degree at Virginia Intermont College in 1951 and began working at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
She was a devoted Army wife and mother of four. She was a magnetic lady who drew people to her with her kindness and her beauty. If you were lucky enough to know her, it was impossible not to love her. Throughout her many moves, she accumulated many memories but more important to her life-long friendships. She was a beloved mother and an even more beloved grandmother.
She had many jobs from Red Cross volunteer to a docent at Mt. Vernon, but her favorite job was Mother/Grandmother/Friend. She was Betty, Armie, Betty Boop, Mom, Mama Gano, Mono…now our Guardian Angel.
Betty is survived by her sister, Margaret Armstrong, Bel Air, MD, her children, Joseph Ragano (Marcie), Christina Wilson (Jack), David Ragano (Linda) and. John Ragano (Stefanie) as well as her 10 grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Madison, Alabama on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. with a funeral mass following at 12:00 P.M. A reception will follow the funeral mass. Burial will be at a later date in Aberdeen, Maryland.
