She was predeceased by : her husband Dale Hurtig; and her son Bob Stokes. She is survived by : her children, Bill Stokes, Cindy Ishee and Deborah O'Malley (Ed); her grandchildren, Shaun, Justin, John (Wesli), Mary (Josh), Meghan (Evan), Meredith and Ryan; and her great grandchildren, Sophia, Jacob and Silas.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 20th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Berryhill Funeral Home & Crematory (2305 Memorial Pkwy NW, Huntsville, AL 35810). A graveside service was held on Thursday, June 20th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Huntsville Memory Gardens (6810 University Dr NW, Huntsville, AL 35806).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the Bright Focus Foundation. The foundation does research for Macular Degeneration and Alzheimer's Disease and can be contacted at brightfocusfoundation.org.
