He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia Powell Byrd; his parents, Clarence Abram Byrd Sr. and Edris Cameron Byrd; and his sister Gayle Byrd Weed. He is survived by: his children, John Byrd (Charlotte) of Hazel Green and Sharon Patterson (Guy) of Hazel Green; and his grandchildren, Brooks Patterson, Mary Grace Patterson and Cassie Patterson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
