He is survived by: his children, David Canedy (Nancy) of Athens, AL and Kim McDowell (Joel) of Birmingham, AL; his brother Ed Canedy (Annette); his sisters-in-law, Joan Sweitzer and Beth Sherwood (David) of Largo, FL; his grandchildren, Amy Hill (Theon), Jennifer Gregory (Ben), Joshua Canedy (Megan), Emily Canedy, Payne McDowell, Chadwick McDowell and Trent McDowell; and his great grandchildren, Michael McDowell, Theon Hill, Jr., Mia Hill, Ellison Hill and Chayleigh Canedy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
