He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl James Barnes and Mary Vina McManus Barnes; his sister Margie Hopkins; his daughters, Edith Geer and Patricia Barnes; and his grandson Jeremy O'Bar.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Barnes; his sister Marie Lovett; and his daughters, Wylene Janzen, June O'Bar and Janine Schuman. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
