With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Elkins Johnson of Lynn, Alabama, who passed away on January 17, 2021 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Julian Thomas and Susie Lee Elkins; her husband McKinley Johnson; and her siblings, Geraldean E. Simmons (Earl), Wayne Elkins (Marie), Tommy Elkins and Kenny Elkins, Sr. (Jo).
She is survived by: her daughter Cindy Johnson Diehl (Charles); her brother Johnathan R. Elkins (Donna); her grandson Garrett Cade Diehl; her nieces and nephews, Denise Simmons, Dr. Malcom Simmons (Kelly), Cheryl S. Baird (Jason), Christopher Simmons (Mary), Judy E. Stott (Steve), Phillip Elkins (Sherry), Darrell Elkins (Raina), Lashonda E. Muck (Randell), Kenny Elkins, Jr. (Mary Hannah), Reid Elkins (Lori Ann) and Katie E. Corley (Alex); and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Elkins and Jo Elkins. She is also survived by 16 great nieces and nephews; and 2 great great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Lynn Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
