He was predeceased by: his parents, Comer Carnes and Grace Kimbro Massey; and his sister Nell Sellers. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Compton Massey; his sons, John (Janet Massey) and Paul (Beth Massey); his grandchildren, Melinda Hendry (Brett), Tipton Massey, Catharine Watkins (Jacob) and Abbie Massey; his great grandchildren, Sloane, Ellis Hendry and Rhett Watkins; and his sister Josie Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
