She was predeceased by: her significant other Johnny; her parents, Walter Gaines and Mae Carr Gaines; and her siblings, Q. P. Gaines, Donnie Hue "Hootie" Gaines, Walter Herman "Shinny" Gaines and Lillie Drew Savell.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Theresa, Eugene "Buddy" Johnson, Dr. Danny and Dr. Gary; her grandchildren, Dr. Jason (Jennifer Johnson), Troy (Brittany Johnson), Lindsay J. (Matt Pagano), Dr. Jonathan (Brittney), Caitlin (Christopher Hilburn), Zackary (Nickolas) and Gabryella (Gibson Wang); her great grandchildren, Elijah Gaines Johnson, Ella Elizabeth "Ella Beth" Johnson, Emilia Ruth Pagano, Natalie Jane Hilburn, John Allen Hilburn and John-Henry Hilburn; her siblings, Margie Prescott, Bobby Gaines, Sarah Sewell (George) and Nickson "Nick" Gaines (Betty); and her sister-in-law Juanita Colquett. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
