She was predeceased by: her grandson Drake F. Knighten; her parents, Otis Ellis and Josie Flowers Ellis; and her siblings, Lonnie Ellis, Tommy Ellis, Loretta Allen and Nannie Ree Leatherwood.
She is survived by: her friends, Jerry, Sharon Kilcrease and Peggy; her grandchildren, Elli and Libby; her husband Johnny F. Knighten; her sons, Johnny E. (Jennifer Knighten) and Derek (Erin Knighten); her grandchildren, Josie Knighten, John Randall Knighten, Ellis Knighten and Elizabeth Knighten; and her brother Joe Ellis (Linda Faye). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
