She was predeceased by: her parents, Beulah Mae Davis and Joe Hamp Thigpen; her son Tremaine Sankey; her husband Walter Dean; and her siblings, Annie Ruth Olive (Jimmie Lee), Sharlene Daniels, James Edward Davis, Willie Louis Davis, John Edward Davis, Ray Charles Davis (Mattie), Charles Lewis Dean and Joe L. Dean.
She is survived by: her children, Petrina Sankey of Luverne, AL, Tremele Sankey (Keisha) of Luverne, AL, Tromone Sankey (Lucianda) of Luverne, AL, Herbert of Tampa, FL, Fredrick of Tampa, FL, Joseph (Candy) of Tampa, FL, Deont'a Dean (Keche) of Tampa, FL, Linda Richardson (Daryl) of Lake City, FL, Cedric Hobdy (Rachel) of Jackson, MS and Michael Hobdy of Troy, AL; her grandchildren, Zari Pitts-Sankey, ZiRyan BettsSankey, Alyshia Foster, Jessie Robinson, Jalon McGhee, Tyrese Sankey, Jabarie Sankey and Jahmylan Patton; her great grandchild Langston Young; her siblings, Sharon Burks of Elba, AL, Andrew Daniels (Catherine) of Elba, AL and Joey Thigpen of Elba, AL; and her nieces and nephews, James (Tonya), De'Angelo, Belinda McCreary, Carl Anthony Massey (Patricia), Yvonne Brooks (Larry), Mary Jean Harrell (Roy Lee), Nellie Harris (Willie), Willie Gene Olive and Michael Olive. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the New Hope Valley Baptist Church (1975 New Hope Church Rd, Luverne, AL 36049).
