He was predeceased by: his wife Dartha Jo Kennedy; his parents, Willard Stoddard and Lottie Lucille Carter Kennedy; and his brothers, Willard Gayle Kennedy and Steve M. Kennedy.

He is survived by: his children, Dartha Gail Kennedy and Derek Anthony Kennedy; his siblings, Sue Blackmon (Wayne), Allen Kennedy (Audrey), Barbara Daniels (Michael), Katherine Yates (Danney) and Victor Kennedy (Pamela); and his pet Casper. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
