He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Boswell Phillips; his parents, Johnnie Walter and Nancy Odom Phillips; and his siblings, Myrtle Green, Joan Seekers, Murdis Burgans, Gladys Arnold and Dempsey Phillips.
He is survived by: his daughters, Melonie (Chuck Latshaw), Rhonda (Danny Johnson) and Dawn (Brian Rayborn); his grandchildren, Blake Johnson (Holly), Shantea Latshaw, Brandon Johnson (Lindsey), Chaz Latshaw (Brittany) and Ashlynn Baker (Paul); his great grandchildren, Faith, Isabella, Olivia, Weston, Tatum, Landon, Abigail, Aubrey and Aaron; and his brother Denford Phillips (Ginger). He is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.
