He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Layton and Myra Raley Layton; his brother Larry Horn; and his brother-in-law Eldrid Smith. He is survived by: his sisters, June Layton Smith (Willie), Linda Layton Sullivan (Bernie) and Nancy Layton Smith; his nieces and nephews, Jessica Smith Meriwether (John), Natalie Rebecca Bradley (Troy), Jill Smith Carroll (Van), Jonathan Helms (Morgan) and Austin Brook (Alex); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Sam, Raley, Lillie, Willa, Lee, John Layton, Lola Beth, Lottie, Emma Jaymes, Ivy Drew and Tripp; and his close friends, Mark Andrews, Edwin Mitchell and Kenny Pinckard.
