He was predeceased by: his parents, Terrell Wayne Spears and Frieda Mae Wren Rickles; his sister Dorothy Lingle; and his mother-in-law Lou Jean Holladay. He is survived by: his wife Linda S. Spears; his sons, Andrew Spears (Chetney), Daniel Spears (Michele), David Spears (Karina), Jason Flowers (Rachel) and Justin Flowers (Leslie); his grandchildren, Lily Spears, Paxton Spears, Quinn Spears, Noah Spears, Caitlyn Flowers, Caden Flowers, Coy Flowers and Luke McCracken; his brother Raymond Spears (Susan); his brother-in-law Don Lingle; his niece Kristen Evans; his nephews, Richard Spears, Michael Spears and Jeremy Lingle; and his pet Pepper.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Springhill Cemetery Fund.
