He was predeceased by: his grandson Dustin Sasser; his parents, George Smith and Eunice Butts Smith; and his sisters, Faye Colquitt and Jennifer Lynn Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Ditmore Smith; his children, Melanie Bayman, Charles Larry Smith Jr. (Toni), Kerry Coggins (Andrew) and Joey Brunson (Andrea); his grandchildren, Madison Layne Bayman, Larry Kane Smith, Jordan Sexton, Paige Bradley of Kaley Brunson, A. J, Leilei Brunson, Caden Brunson and Tucker Coggins; his siblings, Betty Perdue, Gaye Carter, Mary Moody, Pat Floyd (Paul) and George Ray Smith (Janice); and his close friend Melvin Watson. He is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.
