He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Emma Owens; his grandson Jeremy Gibson; his grandson-in-law Matt Douglas; his great grandchildren, Jordan and Ryan Douglas; his parents, Ernest Owens and Annie Mirl Wallace Owens; and his siblings, Ernestine Owens and Johnny Mack Owens.
He is survived by: his children, Janet, Danny Rhodes, Gail, John Defee, Sandy and Stanley Smith; his grandchildren, Kayla Raupach, Jessica Gibson, Tiffany Mangram (Chance), Justin Gibson (Rebekah), Candace Waters (Sam), Cheyenne Croley (Stephen) and Anthony Smith; his great grandchildren, Tucker, Haley, Bradley, Tristan, Sage, Christian, Brynlee, Jaelynn, Cameron, Alice, Kylan, Bryant, Jeremy, Kyleigh, Brian, Noah and Greyson; his granddaughter Marie; and his sister Jackie Owens Erwin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 1750 Lester Bell Rd, Brantley, AL 36009. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
