He was predeceased by: his daughter Debra T. Moody; his son-in-law Larry Wayne Moody; his parents, Jim Tomberlin and Mae Stephenson Tomberlin; and his siblings, Elizabeth Broadway, Frances Eiland and Joseph Tomberlin.
He is survived by: his wife Lalar Byrd Tomberlin; his grandson Vernon Benton Moody (Reagan); his close friends, Janet Norred and Blake Booth; and his caregiver Pam Pugh. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Darien Cemetery Fund, c/o Anita West, 509 New Harmony Road, Luverne, Alabama 36049.
