He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil David and Nadine Pearl Spivey Strickland. He is survived by: his wife Linda Ann Caraway Strickland; his children, Russell David Strickland (Lauren) of Pike Road, Alabama and Tonya Simpson (Christopher) of Louisville, Alabama; his brother Rickey Neal Strickland of Louisville, Alabama; and his grandchildren, Sam Strickland, Jack Strickland, Madison Voncino, Caroline Voncino, Dylan Simpson, Anna-Kate Simpson, Alexander Simpson and Sadie Ray Simpson.
