She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Kennemur and Nettie Jones Kennemur; her siblings, Odene Griffin, Jaunell Kennemur, Leon, James and Paul Kennemer; and her great grandchild Konner Goldsmith Hewitt.

She is survived by: her husband Addrick Simmons; her children, Edwin Simmons (Charlotte C.), Harold Simmons (Ann), Nancy Vinson and Charlotte Ann Simmons; her grandchildren, Michael Simmons (Rachel), Shannon Hewitt (Jeffery), Cindy Drake (Norman), Angela Deniston (Mike), Nicole Farley (Anthony), Katrina Vinson, Grady Graves (Sonya) and Danielle Culverhouse (Chris); and her brother Allen Kennemur (Nina).
