He was predeceased by: his wife Clarene Franks Drake; his parents, Mack Ferrell and Mary Webster Drake; his daughter Tabitha Elizabeth Drake; and his brother William Frances Drake.

He is survived by: his children, Ferrell Drake (Angelika), Jody Drake (Angie) and Sabrina Gray (Joe); his grandchildren, Kyle Drake, Jonathan Reed, Emily Drake, Jonathan Drake, Jaxon Drake, Graceyn Drake, Ryan Gray, Tyler Gray, Heidi Gray and Mackenzie Payne; and his sister Mary Davis Drake. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
