He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Jean Tidwell Gilbert; his children, James Gilbert, John Gilbert (Anda), Juanza Gilbert, Jackie Vaughn (Chris), Stacey Evans (Carl) and Jason Terry (Nicole); and his sisters, Pat Works (Edgar), Ellen Wilson (Melvin) and Sybil Kirby (Frankie). He is also survived by grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
