He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mortmous Chaves and Laura Gertrude Reeves Chaves; his wife Nell Rainer Chaves; and his brother William M. Chaves. He is survived by: his children, Rocky Edward Chaves, Rodney Lavon Chaves (Linda), Ricky Lane Chaves (Allison), Kenneth Wayne Chaves (Teresa), Debra Renee Lielani Nelson, Darlene Kippio, Shuwanna Schrempf and Michelle Lyday; and his sister Mary A. Hobbs. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
