She was predeceased by : her spouse Thomas James Portis (TJ); her parents, Oliver Pringle and Ora Mae Pringle (Thomas James "TJ"); her son James Thomas Portis; and her siblings, Irene Spraggins, Essie Sturdivant, Helen White, Macie McRae, Elizabeth Prestige, Orzalee Benson, Oliver Pringle, Jr. (Lil Buddy), Aaron and David Pringle.

She is survived by : her sibling Ora Mae Pringle; her children, Thomas Earl Portis (Dana) of Indianapolis, IN, Ricky Portis of Yantley, AL, Lee Marvin Portis (Donna) of Yantley, AL and Lillie Portis Naylor (Bobby) of Jackson, MS; her daughter-in-law Elaine Portis of Yantley, AL; her grandchildren, Jasmine Gaines, Andrea Portis, Martina, Harrison Portis, Nicholas Portis, Keosha Robinson, Natasha, Tawanna, Tyler Salters, Hope and Phillip Naylor; and her great grandchildren, Gabby Portis, Mason Naylor and Winter Johnson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
