She was predeceased by: her parents, George Stephens and Mae Rosie Weaver-Newell (Jefferson Willis, Sr.); and her siblings, Rosa Nell Smith, Gwenda Faye Lindsey and Jefferson Willis Newell, Jr..
She is survived by: her husband Bernard Nelson Scott; her children, Eric Scott (Ruby) of Ashland and Erika Thomas (Corey) of Wetumpka, Alabama; her sister Elnora Simmons (Dave) of Lineville, Alabama; her siblings-in-law, Billy Joe Smith of Ashland, Alabama, Maeola Newell of Ashland, Sherry Hearn (John Ivory) of Atlanta, Georgia and Carolyn Holmes of Montgomery, Alabama; her grandchildren, Jarvis Stephens, Alex Scott (Leslie), Audarius Scott, Tyler Scott, Gabrielle Thomas and Keaton Thomas; her caregiver Margo Hill (Shannon); and her close friend Angie Stephens. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church (98 Oak Grove Rd, Lineville, AL 36266).
