She was predeceased by: her parents, James S. Barrs Jr. and Florence Pipkin Barrs Lee; her former husband Larry Colburn; her daughter Angel Gibson; and her siblings, Janette McCluggage, Alma Williams and James S. Barrs III.
She is survived by: her siblings, Peggy McCard (Keith) of North Carolina, Audrey Peacock of Lyons, Georgia, Grace Barrs Waszczak of Northport and Carl Barrs; her grandson Dylan Ragsdale of Kathleen; her fiancé Frank Barnard of Lineville; and her partner's children, Frank Barnard III (Heidi) of Wedowee and Heather Smith (Kevin) of Florida. She is also survived by extended family including nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Benefield Funeral Home - Ashland (85499 AL-9, Ashland, AL 36251). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Her contribution to the community will be missed.
