He was predeceased by: his parents, John David "J. D." Sobers Jr. and Genevieve "Boots" Ninneman Sobers; and also, Dr. George Levin Robertson and Florence Horn Robertson. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Deborah Sobers Grant, David Michael Sobers Jr. (Christy) and John Patrick Sobers (Macie); his grandchildren, Kelsey Lyn Grant, Nathan Michael Sobers, Allison Grace Sobers, Lily Catherine Sobers of John Reed and Harper Hayes Sobers; and his sister Johnnie Bordelon (Steve Anthony Bordelon). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
