It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Retha James of Linden, Alabama, who passed away on January 2, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Retha James to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Jackson Smith Sr. and Edith Reeves Smith; and her brother Daniel Jackson Smith Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Edith Marie Bain, Megan James Hannah (Chad), Taraleigh Lins (Patrick) and David Timothy Etheridge (Rachel); her sister Ruby Jean Smith Morris; her grandchildren, Michael Ryan James, Michael Sean Bain, Brittany Bain Hardesty, Courtney Danielle Bain, Nicholas Caden Hannah, Kendall Lane Hannah, Logan Timothy Etheridge, Alexander Gaines Etheridge, Makaela Danielle Etheridge and David William Etheridge; and her great grandchildren, Taylor Rhiannon Vail and Raegan Leighann Vail. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
