He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Waters and Dorothy Waters; his former wife Judith Frazee Waters; his brother William Waters; and his stepson Martin Stephens.

He is survived by: his wife Pamela Waters of Lillian, AL; his children, Dr. Shannon Waters Hwang (Richard) of Mobile, AL and Dr. Darren Waters (Tiffany) of Mobile, AL; his stepdaughter Fielding Ryder (Collin) of Pensacola, FL; his sister Gladys Patton; and his grandchildren, Megan, Emma Hwang of Mobile, AL, Tori, Ty Waters of Mobile, AL, Ethan and Henry Stephens of Pensacola, FL..
