She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Campbell Kern and Bettina Brandt Kern; her husband Jacob Stephen Schang; and her brothers, Lorimer and Phillip McCallister.

She is survived by: her children, Steven Schang (Patricia), Susan Schang, Arthur Schang (Venetta), Carolyn Baker (Mark), John Paul Schang and Mary Elizabeth Schang.
