He is survived by: his children, Anthony Simpson, Gerald Simpson (Shelia), Derrick Simpson (Debbie), Eric Simpson (Vickie), Deborah Brown and Patricia Tate (Brent); his grandchildren, Rachel Abernathy (Jeremy), Melody Casey Aldridge (Jake), Emily Kizer (Jeremy), Michael Simpson (Misty), Colby Simpson, Collin Brown, Alex Simpson and Drew Tate; his stepgranddaughter Christie Carlson (Jeremy); his siblings, Merrill Simpson, Evie Childress, Sandra Vess, Diane Hardison, Sue Tidwell and Sharon Rittenberry; and his close friends, Bobby Chittam and Terry Ann Chittam. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
