She was predeceased by: her husband John Lawson Newman; and her great grandchild Erin Newton. She is survived by: her children, John Michael Newman (Sherri) of Russellville, AL, Susie Newman of Lexington, AL and Wanda Gillespie (Ron) of Lexington, AL; her grandchildren, Brian Ridgeway (Tracy), John Newton (Amanda), Dylan Ridgeway, Mandy King (Zac), Danielle Green, Kimberly Thompson (Nick), Cameron Ridgeway and Danielle Hamby (Dillan); and her great grandchildren, Ian King, Wilson Hamby, Lawson Hamby, Braxton Mayfield, Mary Elizabeth Gray, Ava Grace Thompson, Alexandria Newton, Willa King, Charlee Green, Saylor Green, Brooklyn Massey and Landyn Hamby. She is also survived by brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
